The NEW YORK STATE POLICE at Wurtsboro, NY announce the arrest of Sean Scott, 27, of Bloomingburg, NY, for Identity Theft in the 1st degree (Felony), Identity Theft in the 3rd degree (Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification in the 3rd degree (Misdemeanor), and two counts of Petit Larceny (Misdemeanor).
From August 2010 thru September 2011, Sean Scott did assume the identity of another person, and was able use such other person’s personal credit information to obtain goods and services on numerous occasions over the one year period. The total amount of property and services obtained by Scott exceeded $4000.
On May 22, 2012 Scott was located in Rock Hill, NY, and taken into custody by SP Wurtsboro BCI and Uniform Members without incident. Scott was arraigned in front of town of Mamakating Town Justice Marcelle Matthews and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $7500 bail, pending a future court appearance in the town of Mamakating Court.
