Bethel Woods Looks to Collaborate with Local Artists

Jan 27th, 2015 | By | Category: Featured Articles, Lead Article

In an effort to expand and enrich its current arts and humanities-based programming, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is looking to collaborate with professional artists from the Catskill and Hudson Valley regions. The organization hopes to leverage local talent and passion by developing a roster of teaching artists from the community who will help to lead project specific programming for learners of all ages.

Bethel Woods is looking for artists of all kind, including musicians, writers, actors, directors, dancers, and visual artists with previous experience teaching their chosen medium. “We know our community is full of individuals who possess not only incredible artistic skill but also a true passion for the arts and strong belief in their transformative power. We are excited about the opportunity to bring this talent and passion together in one place where it can be used to help shape the creative capital of tomorrow” said Kathleen Christie, Senior Director of Arts and Humanities at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

For artists interested in becoming a resource for this program, Bethel Woods will be holding two informational sessions. The first will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd at 7:00pm and the second on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00pm in the Bethel Woods Event Gallery. Opportunities will be part-time, project based, and compensated with stipends.
