Best casinos to visit when travelling the USA

In Las Vegas there are around 122 casinos (though it does depend on how you define them) and it is one of the top two casino cities in the world, the other being Macau in the People’s Republic of China. With so many casinos to choose from, everybody is going to have their favourites, but some of the top ones to visit include:

Ø Bellagio – one of the greatest casinos in the world – at least many of us consider it to be with its dancing fountains and amazing gaming area.

Ø Caesars Palace with its special up-market atmosphere and its high stakes gaming tables.

Ø MGM Grand which is all that it promises on the tin with 3,500 slot machines and 200 table games.

Ø The Luxor which is built like a pyramid and from the peak of which emerges what is supposed to be the brightest light beam ever produced, simply dazzling.

You may wonder if it is ever possible to grow tired of Las Vegas, and yes, it sparkling veneer can tend to grow a little thin given too much exposure to its less glamorous side and more and more people are going to Macau or using iphone casino sites. The movie “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” may overstate Las Vegas’ underbelly, but it does have a point.

The best non-Vegas casinos are those run by the Native American tribes. They number 460 and are spread across the nation. Again they are far too many to list, but some that are certainly the best to visit are: Foxwoods in Mashantucket, one of the world’s most successful casinos, Mohegan Sun which is close by, the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino in Washington State, Pechanga Resort and Casino which has 5,000 slot machines and the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino with its 2,000 seat bingo hall. Many tribal casinos began as bingo halls and bingo is still the most popular casino game amongst the tribal nations.
