Award winning croquet player, Nate Lange, made an appearance at the first annual New Paltz Tweed Run Wednesday evening.
The event was organized by The New Paltz Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and sponsored by Mid-Hudson Acupuncture/William Weinstein L.A.C. to bring the spirit of a bygone era to the community.
After traveling through the town on antique bicycles, the players assembled on the lawn of the Dubois Fort at Historic Huguenot Street to dance the Charleston and share in the festivities. Organizer, Dawn Elliott said, “it was pure fun; the perfect combination of summer sun, great refreshments and music” she added, “the event took a large city phenomenon and made it happen in a small town while encouraging the importance of safe bike and pedestrian accessibility”.
Mr. Lange offered his expertise to the local team and also helped to train those unfamiliar with the sport.
