Jan 9th, 2013 | By | Category: Entertainment

Now that former Dutchess County resident “Crazy” Gene Trifilo has returned home and joined the growing creative team at The Beacon, his uncanny ability to showcase the best in national comedy will continue throughout the year as part of the theatre’s ‘All Star Comedy’ series in the newly renovated Robert A. McAlpine FrontStage His next lineup of comedian/illusionist Chipps Cooney and comic headliner Mike Eagan will grace the stage January 12 (Beacon’s 2nd Saturday) at 9:30PM.

Chipps Cooney has entertained audiences doing his stand up comedy act at The Hard Rock Cafe, The Riviera In Las Vegas, and The Claridge and Borgata in Atlantic City.

He has also performed in New York City at the New York Comedy Club, Dangerfield’s, The Improvisation, and the legendary Pip’s Comedy Club in Brooklyn.

Cooney is a magician who amazes nobody, but his stand up comedy act is hilarious!

The headliner is Mike Eagan. Mike has more than twenty-five years of stage experience and has made his mark from coast to coast and beyond. You can catch him regularly in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He spent years as the mc/host/creative director of famed New York City hot spots like Catch A Rising Star and Dangerfield’s. You have seen Mike on A&E’s Evening at The Improv, Caroline’s Comedy Hour, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend.

Come see why Chris Rock and hundreds of other comedians claim that Mike Eagan was one of the biggest influences on their careers!

Tickets for the show can be purchased online at or at the door.  Please note that The Beacon’s FrontStage is set up in a lounge setting for this performance seating only 90 guests. Please get your tickets early for this laugh-filled night!
