7 Arrested in City of Newburgh Drug Bust
Jan 18th, 2012 | By HV Insider | Category: Featured Articles, Lead ArticleOn January 17, 2012 at approximately 6:35 pm the City of Newburgh Swat Team executed a search warrant on a first floor apartment of 105 West Parmenter Street in the City of Newburgh. The investigation was initiated by the City of Newburgh Narcotics Division after they received numerous complaints of narcotics activity. Police believe the apartment was used to supply drug users and low level dealers in the immediate area around the apartment.
Police seized 3 grams of crack cocaine and more than 14 grams of heroin from inside the apartment, as well as packaging material associated with heroin sales. Seven people were arrested inside the small apartment.

Daquan Nugent, age 19, of Albany
Charles McDonald, age 30, of Newburgh
Yoland West, age 47, of Newburgh
Jerry Holmes, age 20 of Newburgh
Charlene Brown, age 29 of Newburgh

All were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, 4th and 5th degree, felonies, as well as Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree a Misdemeanor.
Holmes was charged with an additional count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree after he was found in possession of approximately 10 more grams of crack cocaine.
Brown was also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree from an unrelated case.
